2^nd ILK Symposium 2003

Harmonisation of Nuclear Safety Approaches - A Chance for Achieving more Transparency and Effectiveness?

The 2^nd International ILK Symposium held on October 28 and 29, 2003, in Munich aimed to identify the basic principles, methodologies and policies that can improve the trans­parency and effective­ness of safety practices within the frame­work of harmonized approaches. Over the course of three sessions, each covering a series of presen­tations and a concluding round table discussion, the topics "Current status of harmoni­sation and needs for further develop­ments", "Basic approaches to a well-balanced safety and risk manage­ment" and "Strategic solutions and policies" were explored in detail.
