"Opportunities and Risks of Nuclear Power"
What are the opportunities afforded by nuclear power, given the backdrop of global warming and an increasing world population?
What is the current and future status of reactor safety?

These and other topical questions surrounding the future energy supply were addressed by the Speakers at the international scientific symposium "Opportunities and Risks of Nuclear Power" held in late April. Invitations were issued by the ILK to 15 international experts. On the first day, basic questions relating to German, European and world-wide energy supply and nuclear engineering developments were discussed, followed by a series of more specific questions on nuclear power utilization on the second day.
